A selection of projects which have received Alterno’s support. If your idea or project is unlike any of these, that’s not a bad thing!

Our primary areas of interest are • HEALTH • FITNESS • NUTRITION • EDUCATION

But we do also support ideas and projects outside those areas which we perceive can have a major impact on making New Zealand a better place to live, work and play.

Botanic Garden Art Sculpture

Mar 30, 2016 Every year the Botanic Gardens in South Auckland, organizes an art sculpture trail. This year’s exhibition runs during the summer months . In organising the exhibition they aim to make art accessible to the community, by displaying the art in a park open to the public. At the same time the organisers hope that the visitors prolong their visit, and go for a walk in the garden and learn more about the New Zealand vegetation. Read more

Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services

Mar 28, 2016 The Waihi Beach Lifeguard Services is an organisation located in the popular beach community in the Western Bay of Plenty. The Club provides an excellent service to all members of the public visiting Waihi Beach, ensuring their safety on the beach and in the water. Read more

Bike Taupo Kids Program

Mar 28, 2016 The Bike Taupo Kids Program is a community led project which aims to teach children to ride confidently on two wheels. This goal fits well with the overall aim of its parent organisation Bike Taupo, which hopes to build a cycling culture in the Taupo District, with an increased number of adults and children on their bikes and a safer and healthier community.
