Who we support

Here is a selection of projects which have received Alterno’s support. If your idea is unlike any of these, that’s not a bad thing!

 

Our primary areas of interest are:  HEALTH  FITNESS NUTRITION EDUCATION

But we do also support ideas and projects outside these areas which we perceive can have a major impact on making New Zealand a better place to live, work and play.

Queenstown Trails Trust

Being developed in 2023/2024 is a significant new trail linking Arrowtown to Arthurs Point and down the Shotover River to Tucker Beach . A grant has been provided towards the bridge required to span the Shotover Gorge. Hawkes Bay LandSAR

Grant to replace ageing communications equipment.


Kids Bike Taupo

Kids Bike Taupo started in 2012 with the aim of getting kids of all ages on bikes. Since then Cath Oldfield has developed a very successful programme and now has a big van with 30 or so bikes providing a mobile service to the Taupo Community. https://www.biketaupo.org.nz/kids-bike-taupo


Momentum Charitable Trust

Momentum Charitable Trust works with people in prison and on probation who want to make a change. https://momentum.org.nz/


Outdoor Education at Westland High School

New Kayak Trailer for the outdoor education programme.


Ipipiri Nature Conservancy Trust

Support towards saving Elliot Bay from development.


Te Mata Peak Trust

Support to acquire more land for the park, and also new and replacement signage.


Taupo Sculpture Trust

Support to purchase Upane, an iconic feature on the Taupo lakefront.
